Common Questions
Injector remanufacturing verifies performance before injectors are installed or returned to service. Each unit is evaluated under controlled conditions to identify wear, imbalance, or failure, helping prevent costly downtime and repeat issues.
What is the difference between "Remanufactured" and "Rebuilt" injectors?
A "rebuilt" injector typically relies on a "fix-what’s-broken" approach where only failed components are replaced. In contrast, our remanufacturing process involves a total teardown and ultrasonic cleaning of the injector. We replace 100% of critical wear parts with new components and re-validate the unit to perform better than original OEM specifications.
How are these injectors tested before they are shipped?
Every injector undergoes multi-point validation on a computerized test bench rather than a simple pressure check. We measure static and dynamic leaks at over 25,000 psi, fuel delivery volume at various load points, solenoid response time, and shot-to-shot consistency to ensure reliability.
Why is cleanliness so emphasized during installation?
Internal injector tolerances are measured in microns, which is far thinner than a human hair. A single speck of dust introduced during installation can score a needle or plug a nozzle orifice, leading to immediate failure. We recommend thoroughly cleaning injector bores and keeping protective caps on until the very moment of installation.
Why does Dynomite Heavy Duty Injection not offer a "test and advise" service?
Offering a testing service for these injectors is generally a waste of your time and money. To prevent damaging our equipment with contaminants, we must tear down and clean the injector before testing. Since injectors are usually sent in due to failure or performance issues, it is more efficient to skip testing potentially failing parts and proceed immediately to remanufacturing.
